DRS Daylight Solutions Announces Expansion of Its Tunable QCL Wavelength Offerings Down to 3.3 µm

SAN DIEGO–DRS Daylight Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of a new high-power tunable Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) spanning 3.3 to 3.8 µm and covering the essential C-H stretch molecular vibration band. This development follows the recent addition of a 13 µm QCL which together extend the range of Daylight’s tunable laser offerings from 3.3 µm to 13.7 µm. The new QCL sources can be used in either the single Hedgehog™ laser or as one of the modules in the MIRcat-QT™ laser system.

“We are particularly excited about the opportunities for this new 3.3 µm laser,” said Dr. Jeremy Rowlette, Sr. Director of Scientific Products. “This wavelength range is of particular interest for Environmental Monitoring and Life Sciences applications and has great potential across all of our laboratory instruments including the Spero® and ChemDetect™ imaging and analyzer product families.”
