Nov 08, 2007 – Poway, CA (Thursday, November 8, 2007) Daylight Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced molecular detection and imaging solutions in the mid-infrared, delivers world’s first compact commercially available room-temperature CW laser with broad mode-hop-free tuning in the Mid-IR.
Designed for high resolution spectroscopy applications, the CW-MHF laser utilizes an external cavity quantum-cascade-laser (EC-QCL) with demonstrated continuous mode-hop-free tuning ranges of more than 65 cm-1. Center wavelengths span the mid-IR spectrum from 4 μm to 12 μm and offer excellent linewidth characteristics. The course tuning resolution is further enhanced by PZT actuation to allow fine resolution wavelength tuning and modulation.
The CW-MHF platform becomes the third laser line released in the scientific laser category following the debut of the company’s Pulsed and CW platforms. “This exciting achievement further expands the solution set for the research community and will drive development of ground breaking spectroscopic research,” says Dr. Timothy Day, CEO of Daylight Solutions.
