Sep 12, 2008 – Poway, CA (September 12, 2008) – Daylight Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced molecular detection and imaging solutions, today announced the successful close of a $5 million Series B financing round.

Daylight Solutions continues to expand its markets with innovative, best in class molecular detection and imaging products. The company recently introduced the world’s first broadly tunable, mode-hop free laser source for use in high resolution spectroscopy. Daylight also set a new world record for the broadest tuning, mid-long wave infrared laser system.

Increasing demand for its scientific systems and its OEM imaging and sensor technology is driving the company to expand its operations. “This funding, coupled with our growing revenue stream helps to ensure that we’ll have the resources necessary to respond to expanding opportunities from our customer base,” said Paul Larson, President and COO.

Mid IR technology and products continue to be increasingly important in markets ranging from Defense and Security to Medical Diagnostics and Environmental monitoring. For example, the company recently announced the signing of a $5.3 million contract with the Naval Research Laboratory.

“The success of this Series B round reflects the progress the company has made towards wide scale adoption of our Mid IR sources and subsystems” said Dr. Timothy Day, CEO.
