Sep 20, 2007 – Poway, CA (September 20, 2007) – Daylight Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced molecular detection and imaging solutions in the mid-infrared, announces the addition of Mr. William L. Potts, Jr. to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Potts has over 35 years of experience in corporate finance and has served as the senior financial executive on management teams at private start-ups and mature public companies in Silicon Valley for over twenty years. After beginning his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in New York City, he ascended to the position of chief financial officer at Komag, Inc., a publicly owned storage components manufacturer. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of New Focus, Inc., a publicly owned optical components manufacturer now owned by Bookham Technology PLC.
His accomplishments include private and public equity transactions, syndicated bank facilities, acquisitions, divestitures, domestic and international joint ventures, formation of offshore manufacturing entities, international tax strategies, and corporate restructurings. Mr. Potts holds a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University and a MBA degree from Stanford University. He is a member of Financial Executives International.
Daylight Solutions was founded in January 2005 by industry veterans Dr. Timothy Day, Paul Larson, and Salvatore Crivello. The company develops molecular detection and imaging systems for use in industrial process controls, scientific research, medical diagnostics, defense, and homeland security applications. Daylight Solutions’ core technology consists of the world’s only miniaturized, broadly tunable, mid-infrared sensor engines.
