Jul 06, 2010 – Professor Federico Capasso has had a long and prolific career before and after his seminal work on Quantum Cascade Lasers at Bell Labs in 1994. His work is applauded the world over by the scientific community and the access to the mid-infrared he and his colleagues have enabled will benefit people from many walks of life beyond those of us in the laser community. We salute him and his contributions.
