Even in challenging economic times, the demand for scientific discovery remains strong. Daylight Solutions continues to evolve its advanced research tools in molecular detection and illumination in order to support and enable these scientific discoveries.
The ability to operate throughout the mid-IR region is a critical factor for a broad range of research topics in molecular detection. Broadly tunable, mid-IR laser sources enable and enhance advanced research in molecular spectroscopy. These tools allow researchers to perform true “fingerprint” detection and analysis for single or multi-species molecular samples. Illumination applications such as active hyperspectral imaging, infrared displays, OPO seeding and free-space communications are made possible with Daylight Solutions’ compact, turn-key mid-infrared lasers.
Daylight Solutions has pioneered the commercialization of laser systems throughout the mid-IR. The company’s patented External Cavity Quantum Cascade Laser (ECqcL™) products leverage ongoing advances in quantum cascade semiconductor gain media by integrating them into external cavity geometries for a variety of uses. The resultant turn-key products mean that the laser no longer has to be part of the experiment, enabling researchers to concentrate their efforts on the discovery process and not the generation of light.
Ultra-broad tuning, high spectral resolution, high-speed frequency dithering and high output powers are available from Daylight Solutions’ family of tunable laser systems. A new family of fixed wavelength laser systems offers the same turn-key operation, but with a wavelength that is fixed to 1 part in a 1,000. Both laser families can operate in either continuous wave or user-defined pulsed mode.
Complementing the Daylight Solutions family of laser sources is an amplified MCT detector, which offers high-bandwidth, low-noise performance and is ideal for use with the company’s mid-IR pulsed lasers.
