Tunable Laser - CW/Pulsed

The Tunable CW/Pulsed External Cavity Quantum Cascade Laser (ECqcL™) system is the laboratory work horse, providing both Continuous Wave (CW) and Pulsed performance. Tuning ranges of many models have been expanded. The new HFQD control architecture allows for longer pulses and higher repetition rates as well as provides more chip protection and a more versatile modulation circuit for CW operation.

And now introducing over 100cm-1 of tunability at 3.25µm (3080 cm-1) to probe hydrocarbon stretches!

Product Details

Introducing 3.25 µm (3080 cm-1) coverage of the hydrocarbon stretching region.

Daylight Solutions is pleased to provide the world’s first broadly tunable mid-IR lasers based on quantum cascade (QCL) and other semiconductor technology. Seventeen models with center wavelengths spanning the mid-IR spectrum from 3.25 μm to 10.4 μm provide continuous tuning of up to 120 cm-1. New expanded tuning ranges are now offered on most models. These lasers operate in both Pulsed and CW modes and are appropriate for applications requiring narrow linewidth and wavelength stability, though they do not tune mode hop-free in CW mode.

Designed by the world’s leading experts in mid-IR tunable lasers, these sources are small, robust, and utilize specially designed, patented1 miniature lenses to optimize system performance. Each system integrates thermoelectric cooling for room-temperature operation. In Pulsed operation, the lasers are passively cooled and only a water chiller is needed when operating in CW mode – no cryogenic cooling ever!

Each tunable laser operates with an intuitive, easy-to-use multifunction controller now featuring the HFQD control architecture. HFQD (High-Fidelity Quantum Cascade Drive) provides better-formed, longer pulses as well as higher repetition rates. HFQD also provides broader modulation bandwidth (DC to 1 MHz) for CW operation and better protection circuitry for the gain chip. Full control of laser operation is available from the front panel of the controller or through an RS-232, GPIB, or USB connection to your PC.

Daylight Solutions’ laser systems leverage the last 15 years of tunable laser development and manufacturing, and incorporates the company’s latest patented1 tuning and packaging technology for the mid-IR.

The availability of robust, easy-to-use tunable lasers in the 3.25 μm to 10.4 μm region of the spectrum is now a reality. These lasers enable research in the fields of molecular detection and imaging, including applications such as nano-scale imaging, microscopy, industrial process controls, detection of biomarkers in the breath, cellular imaging, and detection of chemical and biological agents.

Daylight Solutions' mid-IR laser platform based on quantum cascade lasers (QCL) opens up the mid-IR to all researchers – today. We also offer detectors, broader tuning pulsed, and CW mode hop-free performance.
